Extracting Data from Edval and Sentral

This guide will help you extract the data needed to run your school Superbly account.

Edval Extraction (Edval 10)

Three types of data needed from Edval (timetabling software). This guide assumes that you are using Edval version 10 

Data Set 1 (Edval) : Teacher data

What is this data set? This provides a list of teacher names, email addresses and their allocated classes (class codes). 

  1. Open Edval 10 
  2. Load the latest timetable file
  3. Click on File 
  4. Click on Export Data 
  5. Click on Teacher Data (download file - excel)
  6. Example file looks like this dummy data

Data Set 2 (Edval): Student data

What is this data set? This provides a list of all classes (class codes) and the associated subjects 

  1. Open Edval 10
  2. Load the latest timetable file
  3. Click on File
  4. Click on Export Data 
  5. Click on Students then Student Data -> Include all student field -> Select “Year 7”  
  6. Download excel file - FIle Looks Like This

Data Set 3 (Edval): Class list, subject and faculty

What is this data set? This provides a list of all classes (class codes) and the associated subjects 

  1. Open Edval 10
  2. Load the latest timetable file
  3. Click Reports -> Within Enrollments (Class Sizes) - see below
  4. Download Class Size Reports for. File Looks Like This
  5. Year 7

Data Extract - Sentral (Contact List) 

The final data set can be downloaded from Sentral 

Data set 4 : Parent contact details 

What is this data set?  This provides all student contact details (parent names, email addresses). 

To gain this data set it requires administrator access in Sentral - SWITCH SENTRAL TO OLD VIEW (not new view)

  1. Open Sentral and navigate as follows
  2. Choose Profiles (student profiles module)
  3. Select Exports 
  4. Select “Student Details
  5. Select “Contact Information
  6. Select “All” on other options or specify age group year “7” 
  7. Select Export (green button) to export excel file
