We know that time is precious and often we all use the similar comments or messages so we have created a message template option. If you know you will use a comment of message regularly it can be saves as a template.

Templates can be opened in 2 locations:

  • In the messaging window by clicking on the "choose template" button next to the "Message Title" field
  • In the Template tab where you can choose existing templates or create a new template

Creating a template

Templates can also be saved as:

  • Private - this is the default and will only show up in your account
  • Public - this is available for all staff to use and adapt
  • Shared - templates can be shared between staff
You can add a new template or edit an existing template. when editing If it is a "public" or "shared" template make sure you save the template name differently so as to keep the original.

  1. Open the template tab
  2. Select edit or add new
  3. Add the template name and subject title
  4. Add the body of text, use the snippets on the write to speed up the auto adapt function with student name and gender
  5. Choose to make it public or private (the default is private) by checking the box
  6. Review the message in the preview box below to make sure everything is correctly converted (name, gender etc)
  7. Select save message or click save message and use if you plan to send messages using the template immediately.
